FUE Hair transplant
What is the FUE with DHI Hair Transplant technique?
FUE with DHI Hair Transplant (Follicular Unit Extraction) is an innovative hair transplant technique that involves extracting hair follicles one by one from the back of the head using a special, small instrument (0.6 – 0.9 mm) to transplant them into areas with thinning hair or baldness.
Why choose FUE with DHI Hair Transplant?
• No Linear Scar: There is no long scar at the nape of the neck, leaving only a small, almost invisible spot.
• Minimal Recovery: Wounds heal quickly, and you can resume normal life within 1-2 days.
• High Graft Survival: High survival rate of hair grafts with care from expert veterinarians.
What is DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)?
It is a technique for “planting” hair roots directly into the desired area.
• Process: Instead of pre-making a slit with a blade like the conventional method, DHI uses a special tool called the “DHI Implanter” (or Choi Implanter), which resembles a pen with a needle tip.
• How it works: Selected hair follicles are placed in a pen, and the doctor then presses the pen to “embed and plant” them simultaneously in the skin in a single step.
When used together, FUE with DHI Hair Transplant means “each hair follicle individually extracted (FUE with DHI Hair Transplant) and then transplanted using a special pen (DHI),” which is considered a high standard today.
Safety standards for FUE with DHI Hair Transplant.
• Medical Expertise: * Must be performed by a licensed hair transplant specialist.
• The graft assistants must be highly skilled.
• Local Anesthesia System:
• It is a minor surgery that uses only local anesthesia, without the need for general anesthesia. This means the patient remains conscious throughout the procedure and carries a lower risk than major surgery.
• A thorough review of the patient’s drug allergy history is conducted before starting the case.
• Cleanliness and sterilization:
• The operating room must have the same cleanliness control system as a hospital.
• All equipment used (e.g., punch heads) must be sterilized using an autoclave or be used only as single-use tools.
Preparation before hair transplantation.
1. Avoid medications and vitamins: Stop taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, and ginseng extract for 2 weeks in advance (to prevent excessive bleeding).
2. Avoid addictive substances: Refrain from smoking and alcohol for at least one week to allow oxygen to reach the hair roots effectively.
3. Hair care: If you need to color your hair, do so 7 days before your appointment (do not color immediately after the hair transplant).
4. Preparing for the event day:
• Wash your hair thoroughly (do not use hairspray or gel).
• Have a proper breakfast (avoid tea/coffee).
• Important: Wear a button-front shirt to avoid chafing when putting on/taking off your clothes.
Post-hair transplant care
1. The first 3 days (period of highest caution):
• Avoid bending your head down; walk upright to reduce swelling.
• Sleep with your head elevated on a pillow (45 degrees) or use a neck support pillow.
• Clean the wound at least 3-4 times a day.
2. Washing your hair:
• Avoid washing your hair yourself on the first day (you should have it washed at the clinic).
• Afterwards, use a gentle shampoo, mix with water to create lather, and gently pat the skin onto your face. Do not rub or scratch.
3. Scabbing and shedding:
• The scabs will begin to dry and fall off on their own within 7-14 days (do not pull them off).
• Shock Loss: During the first 1-3 months, the transplanted hair will fall out (this is normal) and will begin to regrow permanently from the 4th month onwards.
4. Activities to avoid:
• Avoid strenuous exercise/swimming/sauna for 1 month.
• Avoid strong sunlight for 2 weeks.
